Acoustics of Stadion Mattoanging Andi Mattalatta

Insgreeb, a research group specializing in building physics, is involved in the planning and construction of the Mattoanging Andi Mattalatta Stadium in Makassar. This project, under the South Sulawesi Provincial Youth and Sports Office, collaborates with PT. Arkonin Building, PT Bina Karya (Persero), PT Yodya Karya (Persero), and PT Ingreeb Karya Nusantara. Insgreeb’s role includes assessing noise potential using sound mapping around the construction area and designing both passive (selection and placement of acoustic materials) and active acoustics (selection and placement of speakers) to enhance sound distribution throughout the stadium while maintaining crowd noise.

The scope of acoustic work covers Entertainment, Announcements, Emergency, and Public Address (PA) systems. Key focus areas include the stands (using baffle acoustics), VIP boxes (material placement on walls and ceilings), and the Museum (material placement and designing an immersive sound system). The goal is to ensure spectator satisfaction not only visually but also acoustically, providing a comfortable and memorable auditory experience.
