Dwi Joko Suroso was born in Sleman on 1988. He got his Bachelor of Engineering from Engineering Physics (EP), Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) in 2010. He then pursued his Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang in Bangkok, Thailand as AUN-SEED Net/JICA scholar. His research interests in Master’s work wass target/object finding algorithm in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). After completing Master’s degree in 2012, he worked as temporary lecturer in Universitas Islam Negeri Sunan Kalijaga in Yogyakarta on 2013-2014 period. While he was also active in EP UGM as teaching assistant (TA) on some instrumentations-related subjects i.e., modern control, communication data, industrial instrumentations and led the assistant of laboratory practices as the coordinator. In April 2014 he flew to Tokyo Institute of Technology (TokyoTech) as research student under MEXT scholarship. In 2015, he successfully enrolled TokyoTech as Ph.D student with the same scholarships. In his Ph.D work (now is on going), he focused on channel modeling for the next wireless communication system (5G), his works are closely related to multiple antenna system or Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) system. He is now doing some simulations on how we can validate the performance of MIMO channel by only using one-shot of measurement data and producing channels using method called “Channel Synthesis”. Outside channel model he also has interest in low-cost sensor system developments, lighting in building, building automation and its communication data based on Internet of Things (IoT). He awarded the high quality paper award from IEEE Singapore in 2011. He also won several best presentation awards and been invited to present his work in NTU Singapore in 2015 and HKUST Hong Kong in 2016, respectively. He is now full lecturer in EP UGM and joins INSGREEB as researcher from May 2018 (he was junior researcher in the beginning of INSGREEB establishment on 2012).
