Laksana Gema Perdamaian was born in Sleman, May 12 1990. He had research interest in building
systems engineering since his junior year (3rd year) in Department of Nuclear Engineering and
Engineering Physics, Universitas Gadjah Mada. He obtained his Bachelor of Engineering degree on May
2012, with undergraduate research about energy simulation international airport building. Soon
afterwards, he involved in several building system-related activities, both professional as well as
educational, such as building energy auditing verification, teaching assistantship, and helping final year
undergraduate students with their research. He also invited to train undergraduate students on building
energy simulation software.

In January 2015 he moved to Boulder, Colorado, USA to pursue master degree in Architectural
Engineering at University of Colorado Boulder (https://www.colorado.edu/ceae/) with funding from
Indonesia Education Endowment Fund (LPDP). He chose Building System Engineering speciality and took
courses such as HVAC System Design, Daylighting, HVAC Control Systems, CFD for Built Environment,
and Sustainable Building Design. He work on research in building infiltration under supervision from
Professor John Zhiqiang Zhai (https://www.colorado.edu/ceae/john-z-zhai). He earned his Master of
Science degree in 2017.

He returned to Indonesia on March 2017 and immediately return to academic and professional work,
with more advanced role. His recent project includes building energy auditing and supervising
undergraduate project. He is currently involved as research assistant in Net-Zero Energy Building
research within the Center for Development of Sustainable Region (cdsr.pse.ugm.ac.id), a research
consortium established by seven Indonesian universities and a partner in the USA, University of
Colorado Boulder.
