Acoustic of Masjid IKN

Insgreeb participated in the Beauty Contest (BC) stage of the IKN Mosque project, which included comprehensive acoustic considerations. Insgreeb simulated the mosque’s architectural drawings using EASE software and provided recommendations to the architects to adjust elements that adversely affected room acoustics. The spaces worked on by Insgreeb included the Main Prayer Hall, the Meeting Hall, and the Press Room.

The speech clarity (C50) and music clarity (C80) in ALT-2 demonstrated that the quality met the standards, indicated by the absence of negative values and a color distribution dominated by blue and purple hues. These colors represent positive C50 values, meaning that in those areas, the reflection effects from materials are no longer perceptible by hearing. Correlating with speech clarity (RASTI/STI), a C50 > 5dB is equivalent to the ‘Good-Excellent’ category. The acoustic parameters in ALT-2 have thus met the required standards.
