Acoustics of Istana IKN

The Istana IKN project is a major construction endeavor, with the palace designed to the highest standards, taking various aspects into consideration. One key aspect is room acoustics, and Insgreeb is responsible for analyzing the building’s acoustic performance.

The specific rooms within Istana IKN that are being evaluated for their acoustics include:

• Official Activity Room
• Large Meeting Room
• East Small Meeting Room
• West Small Meeting Room
• Credential Room

The acoustic design requirements for these rooms are as follows:

• Minimum speech clarity of 0dB in the audience area (C50)
• Minimum music clarity of 2dB in the audience area (C80)
• Speech intelligibility must meet at least the “GOOD” category (STI)
• Each room should provide a unique auditory experience (room response)
